Daffodil Teas go from strength to strength!
Updated: May 6, 2019
Back in 2010, Judy had an idea to raise funds for the Village Hall by holding springtime afternoon teas - and what was then a tentative project has blossomed, (like the daffodils), into a very popular and well-supported event. That first year, the princely sum of £67.50 was raised for Hall funds. In 2019, Daffodil Teas were held over three consecutive Saturday afternoons on March 30th, April 6th and 13th from 2pm until 4:30pm when visitors were treated to home-made sandwiches, scones and cakes - and, of course, plenty of cups of tea! The 2019 events were so popular that it was even necessary to get some more food during the afternoon! So popular, in fact, that visitors came not just from Barnham, but also from the surrounding villages, Thetford and Brandon to enjoy the Teas and help raise the magnificent sum of £795 this year.
Special thanks to everyone who donated cakes and buns for the Teas and to Barbara, Becky Karen and Paula for their hard work in the kitchen and to Denise, Katherine and Judy's family for their waitressing work 'out front'. We must also thank Judy for all the hard work she has put into the Daffodil Teas, this and every year - and to her husband Ken for dodging the traffic while he puts up the advertising signs!
